Heartfelt Tributes and Debuts at the ‘Ikkis’ Screening
The special ‘Ikkis’ screening held on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Mumbai, was a poignant affair, drawing numerous prominent Bollywood figures. The war drama holds significant emotional value as it marks the final on-screen appearance of the legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away in November 2025. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was notably moved during the event, pausing with visible emotion in front of Dharmendra’s poster. This gesture resonated deeply, highlighting the profound bond Salman shared with Dharmendra, whom he considered a father figure.
Beyond the tributes, the ‘Ikkis’ screening also celebrated new beginnings. The film marks the much-anticipated Bollywood debut of Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda, who plays the lead role of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, ‘Ikkis’ is a powerful war drama inspired by the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, who made the ultimate sacrifice at just 21 during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The film is set to release in theaters on January 1, 2026.
