
Bengaluru-bound passengers experienced a terrifying incident when their private sleeper bus caught fire in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district. Over 40 individuals had a miraculous escape from the blaze that engulfed the vehicle, though some sustained injuries.
Sleeper Bus Fire Near Bengaluru Shocks Travelers
A private sleeper bus carrying over 40 passengers from Nittur to Bengaluru was completely destroyed by fire near Sudur in the Hosanagara taluk of Shivamogga district on Tuesday night. The incident occurred on a forested stretch between Arasalu and Sudur.
The fire started after smoke was noticed in the driver’s cabin due to a technical fault. The driver, attempting to control the situation, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to ram into a roadside tree. Following this, the bus rapidly caught fire.
Thankfully, all passengers managed to evacuate the bus safely before the flames consumed it entirely. Two drivers sustained minor injuries during the incident. Local police from Ripponpet quickly responded to the scene to assist the passengers, and a case has been registered to investigate the cause of the fire.
